Longview Farm Park

Located in the center of the City of Town and Country, this 30 acre park is the first of several new parks for the municipality. Longview Farm Park, a former farm, was one of the few remaining open spaces in the city. The plan allows the house to be converted to public uses (offices and meeting rooms) and the barn and pastures to remain for the grazing and housing of horses.

The new restroom and pavilion structure was designed to complement the architecture of the existing buildings. An extensive play area with resilient surfacing was developed to meet the community’s goal of safe, accessible play suitable for multiple age groups. A new vehicular entry and parking lot was developed to minimize the loss of existing vegetation while providing safe and direct access from Clayton Road.

Nearly 2 miles of new hiking trails, both asphalt and woodchip, wind through the site to allow access to the new lake. Boardwalks and decks create unique seating and gathering locations at the lake edge. Construction was completed in 2002.
